Silom Silom Road (ถนน สีลม) used to be the main business district for many years before Sukhumvit was intensely developed into what it is today. It is followed by the Underground (MRT) on most of it's length. It is home to several entertainment complexes and nightclubs, a wide selection of hotels, as well as some administration buildings and embassies. It is the beginning of the skywalk (bridge under the Skytrain, but above the road) connecting Central Chidlom with the Rajaprasong area over Central World Plaza to the Siam Square area and ultimately MBK shopping mall. As well Chidlom marks the Northern end of Lang Suan Road, which has over the last decade become a very demanded residential city center area.
Suvarnabhumiairport Suvarnabhumi International Airport (ท่าอากาศยาน สุวรรณภูมิ) covers an area of some 20,000 rais (8,000 acres). The new Bangkok international airport is located about 20 km of on the east-bound Bangna-Trat Highway in Bang Phli District, Samut Prakarn Province and is about 35 km from Bangkok Central Business District. There are various access roads, the most convenient being via Rama 9 Road in the North East or via Bangna in the South East of town, depending on the final destination.
Donmueangairport Don Mueang Airport (ท่าอากาศยาน ดอนเมือง)
Former International Airport, the Don Mueang Airport has been reassigned to non connecting domestic flights, mainly by AirAsia and Nok Air carriers, aside of charter flights and private aircrafts. The IATA code has been changed to DMK and it is very easily accessible via the elevated expressway over Viphawadee Rangsit road. Since there are only limited amount of flights, the airport is very user friendly and practical. As well there is a Railroad connection in walking distance of the terminal allowing passengers to commute very easily to Hua Lomphong main station.

As chaotic as the City may appear, there are many ways to discover it, either using private guided tours or Taxis or Public Transportation.

Most convenient are the Skytrain (BTS) and the Underground Train (MRT) which are both covering some of the most interesting sites. Also to recommend is using the River Taxis on both Chao Praya River and /or any of the Canal (khlong) Tours.

Should your journey take you beyond the city limits, then opt for plane , train or line buses. (see time-tables).
For both first time or repeat visitors, Bangkok offers very interesting tour and itineraries to facilitate / discover the City.

Aside of the classical - City & Temples, why not visit the legendary Jim Thompson House and learn all about the fantastic story behind one of the most successful exports, namely Thai Silk. For night shoppers Patpong, Suan Lum Night Bazar is the ideal place to find souvenirs to bring back home. It goes without saying that one has not experienced shopping without visiting the Chatuchak Weekend Market, open only during the week-end (day time) the market is a paradise for browsers and bargain hunters alike.
